A comment by my wife and occasional guest poster Doreen Kephart on the death of Sir Arthur C. Clarke, who died on March 19th in Sri Lanka:

It would take me more time than I have here, but Arthur C. Clarke would be my New Tech Hero for connecting me to science and technology in ways that were human. He blended science and fiction that spoke to me about being human and spiritual. He gave hope to my future and made me a technology optimist.

This is his last interview, with a writer from IEEE Spectrum magazine. Even in death, Clarke connects my childhood with my adulthood.
